The Bad Plus is a jazz trio from Minneapolis, Minnesota, consisting of bassist Reid Anderson, pianist Orrin Evans, and drummer Dave King. Ethan Iverson, Reid Anderson and David King first played together in 1989 but established The Bad Plus in 2000. The band recorded their first album, a self-titled effort released on Fresh Sound, after playing only three gigs together

Artist: The Bad Plus. Album: Never Stop II. Genre: Jazz. The Bad Plus – The Rite of Spring (2014). The Bad Plus – It’s Hard (2016). The Bad Plus – Inevitable Western (2014).

The new album, NEVER STOP, is a ten-track set, the group s first album of all-original material, strictly an instrumental affair and a collection whose live groove belies its studio origins. From gentle and melodic to fierce and abstract, from swing to 80s techno, NEVER STOP does just what the title says: it keeps rolling and flowing, a kinetic playground of new sounds. With a year-long anniversary tour planned for 2010-2011, The Bad Plus is ready to solidify its. Exclusively for Prime members.

Recorded At – Pachyderm Studio.

Never Stop, released in 2010, was the first album by The Bad Plus to consist entirely of original compositions. Each album can be understood as a planted flag, a marker of group identity. But the transition at hand is cause for close inspection, a reflection on what's changed and what remains the same. But Evans' two compositions might be the most fascinating on Never Stop II, for what they represent. Boffadem," with its prowling bass vamp and kalimba-like toy piano part, brings a West African influence of the sort that Evans has explored in other bands (notably another collective trio, Tarbaby). And "Commitment" opens like a Brad Mehldau ode before lurching into fever-dream mode, intemperate and roiling. It feels like Evans' vision for what The Bad Plus is about.

Never Stop is the seventh studio album by jazz trio The Bad Plus, released on September 14, 2010. This album is the first by the band to consist entirely of original compositions. The Radio Tower Has a Beating Heart" (David King) – 5:44. Never Stop" (Reid Anderson) – 3:51. You Are" (Anderson) – 7:10. My Friend Metatron" (King) – 4:23. People Like You" (Anderson) – 9:15. Beryl Loves to Dance" (Anderson) – 4:00. Snowball" (Anderson) – 7:41. Ethan Iverson) – 4:41.

The Bad Plus toured throughout spring and summer 2003 in support of their major-label debut. The band's second album, Give, followed in spring 2004. For 2005's Suspicious Activity?, the trio produced the album with Blake at Real World Studios in England. PROG followed in 2007. In 2009 the Bad Plus teamed up with vocalist Wendy Lewis, adding a new dimension to the sound of their sixth album, For All I Care. The following year they continued to shake things up, releasing Never Stop, the group's first album of all-original material  . Evans made his recorded debut with the trio on 2018's Never Stop II; a follow-up to the group's first album of all-original material, 2010's Never Stop. As with that album, Never Stop II also showcased original compositions by the band, including several by Evans.
