Here you have the absolutely best songs of Stanley Turrentine from the seventies on one album, Salt Song - Sugar - Don't Mess With Mr T - Speedball that was on the original LP album (that I prefer) but here with four titles added. Much as I love his sixties Blue Notes, Stanley was never better than this.

Stanley Turrentine, born in 1934, appeared on several tracks of ‘Midnight Blue’, a wonderful 1963 Blue Note Records album by Kenny Burrell, including on the opener 'Chitlins Con Carne'. Kenny Burrell‘s Midnight Blue: When Jazz Got The Blues uDiscover. On 3 March 1973 he won the only Grammy of his career (he had a further five nominations), winning Best Jazz Performance by a Group for the album 'First Light'. The 20-minute track 'Gibraltar', composed by Hubbard.
