Chart history and points totals on Crownnote for "Minnie The Moocher," a song by the reggae philharmonic orchestra.

This album is excellent. If you are tired of the regular throbing typical of reggae, here is a refreshing spin. It combines violins (celtic), jazz influences, traditional African sounds and even a hint of classical/opera. This music is in a class of its own. To classify it as reggae, is unfair to the many music forms that this album has successfully weaved together into the masterpiece that it is. This is a must have for anyone worthy of the label "music lover". Music collectors will definately find this album a valuable addition to their library.

Reggae Philharmonic Orchestra. Reggae Philharmonic Orchestra.

Minnie the Moocher" is a jazz song first recorded in 1931 by Cab Calloway and His Orchestra, selling over a million copies. Minnie the Moocher" is most famous for its nonsensical ad libbed ("scat") lyrics (for example, "Hi De Hi De Hi De Ho"). In performances, Calloway would have the audience and the band members participate by repeating each scat phrase in a form of call and response, until making it too fast and complicated for the audience to replicate it.
